Commemorating the National Legal Aid Day at the Eldoret County Commissioner’s Office on 26th April 2024

The National Legal Aid Service(NLAS) commemorated the inaugural National Legal Aid Day at the County Commissioner’s Grounds in Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu county.

The events of the day sought to create awareness on the right to access to justice and further, the commitment by the NLAS to upholding the principles of the constitution. Our Senior Partner Mr. Kimanthi gave a speech on the same highlighting the historical context of access to justice and the steps taken towards promoting access to justice ever since the promulgation of the Constitution 2010.

He also praised the NLAS for helping bridge the gap between those who can afford legal services and the indigent, this was further highlighted by the Acting Director Fresiah Githumbi.

The NLAS also outlined its future goals including offering its services in all 47 counties and enhancing the quality of their services. A media report on the event can be viewed here and an alternate version here.
